CAMILLE BALANCHE WINS OVERALL WORLD CUP TITLE

After an unpredictable season the world's fastest were brought to Val di Sole Bike Park, undeniably the most physically demanding track of the season, for the eighth and final World Cup Downhill race of 2022. Heading into the final, Camille Balanche controlled the points lead with three wins and three more runner up finishes throughout the year. Cami, who was recovering from a crash in practice at round seven in Mount-Sainte-Anne that resulted in a broken collar bone, was able to ride in the final round with the title on the line just 26 days after surgery. Pushing through the pain, Camille Balanche finished fifth at the final and was crowned the 2022 UCI World Cup Downhill Overall Championship. Following suite, Vali Höll and Elaenora Farina would go on to finish third and fourth overall in the series to give TLD Women three of the top five steps on the podium.

In Elite Men, the top TLD contender Benoît Coulanges ended his season seventh overall after taking three podium spots this season. Despite the men being riddled with injuries, top results included Luca Shaw's podium at the season opener and Troy Bronsnan's runner up finish at MSA.

The juniors had an impressive season that was filled with highs and lows and a lot of good learning experiences. New Zealand's Jenna Hastings finished 4th overall with four top three and a World Championship title. First year junior Tegan Cruz ended year fourth overall in the points as well and will hold the number 1 plate at the opener as he is the highest junior men's finisher that will be returning to race next year.
